Unit 3 MA Show and research festival proposals
Briefly outline the key subject of your proposed exhibition
My exhibition explores the emotional landscape of the inner child, focusing on inherited trauma, memory, healing, and play.

Describe what form the exhibition will take
The show will center on a large human-sized mixed media textile painting surrounded by smaller stitched works on canvas. The large work will feature stitched zones of homes, fears, comfort, chaos , created with oil pastels, stencils, thread, fabric, and childlike objects.
How many works do you hope to show?
1 large centerpiece painting and 3–5 smaller stitched paintings.
What is the scale of the work?
The centerpiece painting will be approximately 200x160cm. The surrounding works are A4.
How do you intend to present the work?
All works will be wall-mounted. The large work will hopefully include interactive elements where visitors can tie threads, write messages, or place stickers.
Do you intend to include video/audio or unconventional display methods?
No video/audio.
Health/safety/ethical issues
No issues.
MA Fine Art Research Festival 2025 Proposal
For the Research Festival, I am thinking about leading a workshop focused on reconnecting with the inner child through creative exercises. The session will explore how intuitive drawing and writing can access emotional memories, promote healing, and deepen self-awareness.

Participants will be invited to engage in two main activities:
-
Writing a short letter to their inner child- using stream-of-consciousness prompts to encourage emotional honesty and reflection. I will guide them through this with writing prompts.
-
Drawing with their non-dominant hand- a technique often used in art therapy to bypass analytical thinking and access the subconscious to allow a more instinctive, childlike form of expression.

The aim of this workshop is not technical skill but emotional connection. I will also talk briefly in the session about the concept of the inner child.
