Artist Statement
My practice investigates the transformative role of the inner child in personal and artistic growth. Drawing on themes of childhood nostalgia and symbols of childhood, I explore how reconnecting with this inner aspect fosters empowerment and emotional healing. Central to my research is the duality of childhood experiences, the innocence and playfulness it embodies alongside its depth and complexity.

Through my work, I revisit my younger self, creating self-portraits from childhood photographs and collaging old pages from children’s books. I layer these fragments of familiar stories with vibrant materials such as stickers, glitter, and mixed media, evoking the sensory richness and tactile world of childhood. These processes mirror the layered complexity of childhood, combining playfulness with reflection.

By engaging with the inner child, my work becomes a space for healing and empowerment—an invitation to address emotional wounds and embrace the fulfillment that comes with nurturing this often-neglected part of ourselves. Through this process, I aim to inspire questions and reflections on one’s own inner child, encouraging curiosity, compassion, and a deeper understanding of personal narratives.
